PICCOLO

Quando ti portano un piccolo
Abbandonato, disperso,
non discutere! Accettalo subito!
Toglilo dalle mani incompetenti,
più delle volte mendaci e crudeli.
Prendilo tra le tue
Mettilo vicino al tuo cuore,
fagli sentire con le tue carezze
sicurezza, tranquillità.
Trasmetti il tuo affetto,
tutto il tuo amore,
donagli ristoro e conforto,
fai in modo che si abbandoni al sonno
con un sospiro di sollievo.
Hai lenito le sue paure,le sue sofferenze,
ma in te rimane trasfusa la gioia
e una forte emozione che ti fa piangere.
E’ la pietà per queste povere creature
che ti fa grande.
Riconsolati,lascia agli altri la meschinità.

A LITTLE ONE

When they leave you a little one abandoned,lost,
don’t question it! Accept him immediately!
Take him out of unqualified hands
frequently cruel and dishonenest.
Hold him in your hands,
put him close toyour heart
let him feel safe and peaceful with your hugs.
Convey your love, all your love;
give him comfort and relief so he can sleep peacefully.
You soothed his fears and sufferins
but joy transmitted to you now settes in
and strong emotions make you weep.
Having pity for these poor creatures makes you great.
Console yourself; leave cruelty to others!
